Hero Xtreme 125R Summary

What is the price of Xtreme 125R?

The Hero Xtreme 125R price is Rs 95,000 for the IBS variant (Hero’s term for Combined Braking System, CBS). The Xtreme 125R ABS variant price is Rs 99,500 (both ex-showroom Delhi). The latter is the best Xtreme 125R variant to buy as it offers the safety of a single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which prevents the front wheel from locking up while hard braking. We’d recommend this over the cheapest Xtreme 125 variant.

Can Xtreme 125R overtake in the city easily?

With 11.4PS of power and 10.5Nm of torque, the Hero Xtreme 125R is one of the most powerful bikes in its segment. It has a 0-60kmph pickup time of 6.28 seconds, which is really good for a 125cc bike. You can easily use 3rd gear for most of the city rides, and it accelerates from 30kmph to 70kmph in 3rd gear in 7.2 seconds. This means it has enough grunt to overtake easily in the city.

What is the mileage of Xtreme 125R?

In our real-world mileage test, the Xtreme 125R returned 81.53kmpl in the city and 61.68kmpl on the highway. These mileage figures are absolutely excellent considering the 10-litre fuel tank should ensure at least around 600km range.

Is the Xtreme 125R a good bike for college students?

The Xtreme 125R is a fantastic bike for college students who are looking to buy a bike for around Rs 1 lakh. It’s got great styling that will appeal to the youth, and also has a decent list of useful features, comfortable yet slightly sporty riding posture, and more importantly, offers excellent mileage. It is also quick enough for city riding, and the occasional breakfast rides. The presence of a single-channel ABS ensures safety, particularly on wet roads. Even the split seat setup has enough room for both the rider and the passenger for daily commutes.

What are the Xtreme 125R features?

  • The Hero Xtreme 125R comes with an all-LED lighting, including a hazard lamp feature. Its full-LCD instrument cluster may not have smartphone connectivity but has all the necessary information including the speedometer, fuel gauge, clock, real-time mileage indicator, dual tripmeters, odometer, and a gear position indicator apart from the tell-tale lights.

  • The console is well laid-out and is easy to read too.

  • The ABS variant, as the name suggests, comes with the safety of a single-channel ABS.

  • Other than these, the bike also comes with tubeless tyres, and a rear disc brake for the ABS variant. The base CBS variant comes with a drum brake at the rear.

What's the best colour of Xtreme 125R?

The Hero Xtreme 125R best colour is the Firestorm Red in our opinion. The combination of red, black and silver on the bodywork really brings out the sporty design elements of the bike. For those who want a more subtle look can go for the Stallion Black colour.

Can you do highway rides on the Xtreme 125R?

The Xtreme 125 offers better performance than other 125cc commuter bikes. It can comfortably cruise at around 70-80kmph, which is enough for most of the Indian roads. It can also reach around 100kmph if pushed. So, if your daily ride involves a bit of highways, the Xtreme 125R can handle it without any stress. It is not a touring bike in particular, but it doesn’t complain if you end up on long, open roads every now and then.

Is Hero Xtreme 125R worth buying?

The Hero Xtreme 125R is worth buying as it handles well, has enough power for city as well as occasional highway riding, and also looks pretty good in terms of design. More importantly, it is fairly affordable while offering the safety of ABS, which 125cc bikes (except for the much more expensive KTM 125 Duke) don’t get.

Best Hero Xtreme 125R alternatives in India

The best Hero Xtreme 125R alternatives in India are the TVS Raider 125 and the Honda SP 125. The TVS Raider is as good as the Xtreme in terms of handling, performance and even mileage. It may not have ABS but compensates with a slightly better feature-list. While the SP 125 may not be as exciting to ride or feature packed as the Xtreme 125R or the Raider 125, where it shines is its trademark Honda reliability.

Xtreme 125R Expert Review

BikeDekho Experts
All in all, the Hero Xtreme 125R proved to be a fun and engaging bike to ride. It presents itself as a properly sporty 125cc bike, the perfect rival to the likeable TVS Raider.

Overview

The TVS Raider 125 has been the undisputed king of the sporty 125cc bike segment since its launch. But now Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Xtreme 125R as an answer to that. Let’s take a look at whether the new 125cc Hero bike is a good option to consider in that segment:

Design

The Hero Xtreme 125R gets sleek and aggressive styling all around, with sharp design lines giving it a distinct presence on the road. The headlight has a menacing look to it and along with the sculpted fuel tank, the Xtreme 125R looks much bigger than a 125cc bike. The split-seat setup adds to the sportiness of the design.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The 125cc single-cylinder counterbalanced engine producing 11.55PS and 10.5Nm in the Hero Xtreme 125R has good bottom-end performance. Rev it up to the mid-range and that’s when the engine comes alive. The engine has a punchy nature to it and enough tractability that you can easily roam around in the city in a gear higher than you’d usually. This is also helpful in the corners as well. Also, the engine is quite smooth and vibrations are only felt at the higher end of the rev limit. The claimed mileage for the Hero Xtreme 125R stands at 66kmpl, which is pretty good for a 125cc bike.

Handling & Ride Quality

The Hero Xtreme 125R is agile to ride and makes it easy to dive into corners without breaking a sweat. It changes directions in an instant and remains composed at the same time. Also, the initial bite from the brakes is really good and the presence of single-channel ABS allows one to ride and brake hard with confidence.

Comfort

The Hero Xtreme 125R gets a 37mm telescopic fork and 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock suspension setup, both developed specifically for the bike in collaboration with Showa. They do a decent job of soaking up the bumps and potholes. The seat is well-cushioned and wide enough that even taller or heavier riders will be comfortable for the long rides.

Features

The Hero Xtreme gets quite an extensive list of features for a 125cc bike that includes a negative LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts. It comes equipped with an LED projector headlight with LED taillight and indicators. Also, the hazard light function is available as standard. However, there’s no turn-by-turn navigation, which is odd considering its more affordable sibling, the Hero Glamour Xtec gets it.

Should you buy

The Hero Xtreme 125R is a great package of good performance, agile handling characteristics, and modern features. So, if you are a beginner rider and are on the market for a sporty 125cc bike, the Xtreme 125R is a good option to consider.

The bike is overall good for college students and bachelor who is earning under 50 k (fifty thousand )per month but there are also few cons the gear shift is tight , suddenly the bike turns off in 2nd gear and also kicker is very tight and overall otherwise the bike is good for city ride and you can mostly enjoy the thrill of riding it from 0-80 above 80 there will be vibration but look wise it's stunning

85% pros,15% cons for me in 13000kms of ride.
Millege will differ from 45-70kmpl according to your usage.maintenance cost around 700 per service.major cost cutting on the paint quality and some plastic parts, may be rear brake will included with disc make it more safer one.it will reach 90 km/hr easily, then it will struggle to reach 116km/hr for me.hundred percent satisfied with the money you will provided for that.
